There was action aplenty on day two but the first Saturday promises to be an even busier – and glittering – one, with 97 gold medals up for grabs. Before we look at some of the main stories in Paris, here are the highlights to watch out for today …
Atkinson goes again Great Britain's Archie Atkinson is only 20 and, as of March this year, is the world champion in the C4 men's 4,000m individual pursuit. With a growing sense of anticipation around Atkinson's abilities, he should cruise through qualifying this morning and pick up a medal this afternoon after finishing fifth in yesterday's 1,000m time trial.
Grinham takes aim Known as Triple P to her fans, Phoebe Paterson Pine won para-archery gold in Tokyo in the women's individual compound and having dropped down the rankings in recent years – she is now the world No 14 – faces a tough challenge to repeat her success. Her GB teammate Jodie Grinham has a better shot – and will be competing while seven months pregnant. Long goes for medal No 30 Jessica Long picked up her first medals at Athens 2004 and has not stopped winning, amassing a remarkable 16 Paralympic golds and 29 medals in total. It's not her strongest event but the US great will be hopeful of adding No 30 in the women's S8 100m backstroke final this evening.
Hahn and Young double up With no fewer than 18 track-and-field finals on the first Saturday of the Games, keep your eyes on the Stade de France throughout the day – starting with Eden Rainbow-Cooper in the women's T54 5,000m wheelchair final (9.40am), where the US's Susannah Scaroni and Australia's Madison de Rozario are the dominant duo. In the evening Thomas Young and Sophie Hahn take aim at a repeat Super Saturday of British success – they won the men's and women's T38 100m finals within half an hour of each other in Tokyo. Once again their finals are scheduled for prime time.
More gold for Gabrielzinho? Brazil's Gabriel Araujo has a footballer's nickname – Gabrielzinho – and has already struck gold at this Games in the S2 100m backstroke. He has every chance of another in the 50m final this evening.
GB eyes on the dojang A big night in the dojang as world champions Matt Bush (men's +80kg) and Amy Truesdale (women's +65kg) go for glory in taekwondo. The competition runs all day with the gold medal bouts this evening.
