If you're also struggling to plan a Christmas menu, you might consider leaving the cooking to someone else. Check out last week's roundup for a list of dine-out options on Dec. 24 and 25.
This weekend is also your final chance to squeeze in last-minute holiday shopping. The Shop Small Holiday Makers Market is back at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal Saturday and Sunday, whereas the Pacific Arts Holiday Market continues at Bellis Fair mall.
If you're in need of a family-friendly activity, know that Saturday is the final day of Winterfest. Visitors to Fairhaven can catch Victorian carolers on the Village Green from 1–2 p.m. and meet Santa Claus at the Fairhaven Village Inn from noon to 3 p.m. The Holiday Bellingham Dockside Market also runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Squalicum Harbor.
Lastly, the weekend before Christmas is the best time to go on a self-guided Christmas light tour. I recently interviewed the team behind displays in Barkley Village, Fairhaven and downtown Bellingham. They have quite the backstory: Outside of the holiday season, the Northern Lights crew are also professional mountain guides.
