On a related note, did you know The Fairhaven Rug Gallery doubles as a performance space now? Former Soundgarden bassist Hiro Yamamoto's band, Stereo Donkey, has a show there tomorrow evening.
But even in more traditional venues, this weekend is a great one for live music. Americana fans won't want to miss The Dusty 45s and Cape Flattery at Boundary Bay Brewery tomorrow. For something more experimental, moody electronic musician BAYNK has a show this evening at the Wild Buffalo.
Folk/country/psych group Silent Cowboys will be at Stones Throw this evening from 6–8 p.m., whereas indie psych band The Skellys will play The Blue Room the following night. Local indie rockers Cat Valley are also headlining The Shakedown tomorrow evening.
On the funkier side of things, The Bayou Opossums are getting a jump on Fat Tuesday celebrations with a New Orleans-inspired set this Saturday. Funk/soul/rock group North Sound Soul are playing The Blue Room that same night.
And if you just want to dance, know that the Wild Buffalo is throwing an early-aughts "club bangers" throwback party. Alternatively, head to Kulshan K2 tomorrow and learn how to line dance with the folks from women's outdoor nonprofit Shifting Gears.
