It's nearly spring, which means CDN's sports section is previewing the spring high school sports season with our Prep Spotlight series. These profiles are such a great look into leaders on Whatcom and Skagit County sports teams. The photos — taken by Finn Wendt and Andy Bronson — are always excellent, too: I love how our photographers creatively capture these players, beyond what you typically see in a profile photo.

You can read about tennis senior Eva Ekdahl, of Sehome High School, senior catcher Shaylie Daniels of Blaine High School and Daniel Blankenburg of Meridian High School, the reigning 1A boys state champion.
