Hello! It's Hannah here, your friendly neighbourhood culture critic. It's been a quiet-ish week for me. Besides work, it seems all I've done is fall asleep halfway through Paddington in Peru over Easter weekend with my family, and laugh and cry my way through the latest series of Love on the Spectrum. Speaking of the latter, did you watch the video of Tanner meeting his hero Jack Black? I love it! I love all of the people on that show! I love them! I might be biased because music is very much my thing but I think our recent music coverage has been fun. We ran a feature about why Gen Z are listening to nonchalant pop music: the empty, unenthused sounds of Tate McRae and Addison Rae (they're no relation of each other, it's entirely coincidental). I interviewed X Factor alumni James Arthur about the trials and tribulations of his upbringing and early career. He definitely felt that the music and entertainment industries have it out for him after he embroiled himself in a number of controversies back in the 2010s. So much so that he's scratching his head about why he hasn't been invited on Graham Norton... Plus: Beyoncé's mum released a memoir! How do you raise girls to run the world? Tina Knowles is the woman to ask. If you simply must have an injection of TV coverage, Louis Chilton has written about how the twist in the second episode of the new series of The Last of Us reveals the show's fatal flaw. And I'll leave you with the news that our favourite fictional stalker-killer is back on the small screen... |
