Other weekend events of note include Habitat for Humanity's sixth annual Trashion Show, which will be held at the Bellingham Circus Guild. All outfits on the runway are made from at least 75% recycled goods, and attendees who donate bags of clothes or household items receive a free raffle ticket.
Gabriel's Art Kids is resurrecting the Procession of the Species parade this Saturday for the first time since COVID-19. Per its website, the animal-themed parade "embodies Bellingham's spirit of collaboration and ecological care."
Sunday is also May 4, meaning you'll see a variety of "Star Wars"-themed events around town. Screenings include "Star Wars: The Emperor Strikes Back" at Mount Baker Theatre and "Star Wars: Episode IV—A New Hope" at Lincoln Theatre in Mount Vernon.
Last but not least, Kulshan Trackside is officially open for the season as of 11 a.m. today (and other Container Village businesses will soon follow suit). If you stop by, keep an eye out for murals by printmaker Sarah Finger of Skyline Printworks — featured in the latest edition of CDN's Made in Cascadia series.
