~Abraham Lincoln Someone was pounding on our front door and yelling, "Help!" My husband Doug and I came running and quickly opened the door. Our next-door neighbor Jay had his dog Cody with him, a black Labrador Retriever who was squirming, crying, and choking. Maybe choking to death. Our neighbor Jay and his wife Susan were "once-in-a-lifetime neighbors" who'd become dear friends over the years. They made homemade salsa and shared it with us. They came to our son's wedding.
