From the newsroom

Last Thursday, I was a fly on the wall at CDN's Meet and Greet in Bellingham. It was gratifying to finally see Visual Journalist Finn Wendt's video about our news org on the big screen, but it was also nice to hear from readers about how we can improve.

One suggestion came from an avid news reader who prefers his news in list format, reverse chronological order. Because I don't read news this way, I had never considered it as an addition to our website.

In less than a week, we were able to add the feature at cascadiadaily.com/latest-news (or click "More latest" in the latest news box on our homepage). There you will find all of our content — news, sports, living and opinion — in one place.

CDN's website has come a long way — more than three years ago, it was quite literally a blank, white screen. Along with my editors, colleagues and our web design folks, I've spent I-don't-want-to-know-how-many hours working on our website, including a complete redesign and content management system transfer in early 2024.

I encourage you, our readers, to reach out to me with more suggestions. I can't promise we'll solve every problem or add every feature in a few days, but my inbox is open.
