Isaac wrote about Greg Kendall and his neighbors' tracking of bullet fragments and ricochet bullets falling into their yards from the shooting range back in January, after months of reporting.
Six months later, Whatcom County found "compelling evidence that ricochet bullets and fragments were escaping" the Custer shooting range.
What made my jaw drop reading this story was that while county health department investigators were at Kendall's property in June, a bullet fragment landed between them.
"It was fortunate to have occurred while we were there, because now we can say without any doubt that that was not placed by somebody trying to shut down the range," said one of the investigators.
