| | | | | | | How to Pack Better (and My Favorite Travel Must-Haves) |
| If you're not a frequent flyer, the idea of packing for a business trip or vacation can feel a little chaotic. But when you travel as much as I do, commuting between LA and Idaho at least twice a month, you learn how to simplify and streamline fast. Over time, I've built my own system for packing better, feeling prepared, and still looking stylish without dragging a checked bag across the country.
For me, it all starts with one simple question: Where am I going, and what will I be doing?
Before every trip, I grab a piece of paper and create columns for each day I'll be gone. Under each column, I list out what I'll need whether it's an airport outfit, client presentation look, or just comfy pajamas. For example:
Monday: Airport outfit Dinner outfit PJs Underwear
Tuesday: Workout gear Office outfit Dinner look PJs Underwear
Wednesday: Workout gear Presentation outfit Airport outfit
Once I've mapped everything out, I look for pieces that can do double duty. Maybe the blazer I wear for a client meeting also works with jeans for dinner. Maybe one pair of PJs gets two nights. I'll add a couple of backup tops or bottoms, but the goal is intentionality, not panic-packing your entire closet.
This is how I once traveled across Europe for 21 days with just a carry-on and backpack (and yes, I still felt cute the whole time).
For shoes, I keep it light: One pair of sneakers that work for walking and meetings (hello, Allbirds) One sleek slide or mule for a business-casual vibe (these MUSSHOE mules are my go-to) One flat sandal that packs easily
And then there are the travel MVPs I swear by: Travel keyboard: A foldable Bluetooth keyboard that fits in my bag but still feels full-sized. Ergonomic mouse: Total game-changer for tight tray tables. Way easier on my wrists than a laptop trackpad. Laptop tote bag: I wanted something more elevated than a backpack for work trips, and this one nails it. Chic, structured, and fits everything from makeup to folders to my water bottle. Compression packing cubes: Whether you roll or fold, these cubes help maximize space and keep things organized. Owalla water bottle: Durable, cute, and doesn't leak. Enough said.
Whether you're prepping for a weekend getaway or a full-on work trip, packing doesn't have to be stressful or excessive. With a little planning and a few ride-or-die items, you can travel light, stay ready, and feel like the best version of yourself from takeoff to touchdown. |

| | | | 3 Workflow Traps You're Probably Falling Into |
| When your notes live in six places, your approvals are stuck in someone's inbox, and your team's "process" is just vibes, you don't need more hours in the day. You need better infrastructure.
Staying organized at work isn't about being perfect; it's about reducing friction. Making it easier to find what you need, finish what you start, and move fast without breaking everything.
The trick? Avoid these common traps: Too many disconnected tools that don't talk to each other No clear owner for process updates (so nothing gets updated) Skipping documentation because "we'll figure it out later"
If you can relate, don't worry, you don't need to rebuild your ops from scratch; but it might be worth checking out these tools that quietly make things smoother.
Platforms like monday.com let you build clear, trackable workflows that fit your team's rhythm (instead of forcing you into someone else's).
Docsie makes it easy to document internal processes and keep them current so new hires and seasoned teammates aren't stuck asking the same questions.
Ramp organizes spend and approvals in real-time, so finance ops aren't holding up momentum.
Quickbase empowers non-technical teams to build custom workflows (no dev time required).
And Zoho ties it all together, giving you one hub for projects, data, and collaboration.
When your systems work, your team doesn't have to over-function to compensate.
Give yourself a setup that supports how you actually operate, so you can stop reacting and start flowing. |

| | | | If You're Still Managing Performance in a Spreadsheet… It's Time |
| HR today is more than compliance and onboarding. You're expected to lead culture, improve retention, boost engagement, and prove ROI on all of it; ideally without losing your mind or building 12 dashboards in Excel.
Here's where Lattice comes in. It's the people platform designed to help HR teams drive real results; not just track them.
What you can do with Lattice:
📈 Run performance reviews that are fair, fast, and fully customizable 🧭 Align goals across the company so every team knows what matters most 💬 Make feedback easy—with built-in tools for praise, coaching, and growth 📊 Unlock engagement insights that help you spot issues before they snowball 📅 Automate 1:1s and check-ins so managers stay consistent (and employees feel seen)
Plus, a few smart HR tips while we're here:
✔️ Stop treating engagement surveys as a one-time event. Regular, lightweight pulse surveys give you a clearer picture of how your team's actually doing.
✔️ Train managers like they're part of your retention strategy—because they are. Lattice makes it easy to guide them with templates, reminders, and real-time data.
✔️ Tie performance to development. Employees want to know how today's work connects to tomorrow's growth. Lattice helps you map it out.
HR deserves better than duct-taped workflows and silent burnout.
With Lattice, you can build systems that support your people and your strategy. |
| | | | | | | | Belvedere, a little walking stuffed animal, is just now escaping the Velociraptor stage at almost two years old. He even has his own Facebook page, "Belvedere's Banter," where all of his "wisdom" is shared. He's a good dog, but with such cute looks, he gets away with everything!
His humans love him anyway, and everywhere he goes, he shares his love. Thankfully, he doesn't shed, or he'd be sharing more than just love!
