Apple is poised to secure nearly half of TSMC's initial N2 2nm chip output for its upcoming iPhone 18 series, according to supply chain sources. TSMC's Baoshan and Kaohsiung fabs aim to produce 45,000–50,000 wafers per month by the end of 2025, ramping to 100,000 monthly by 2026, while Arizona's Fab21 will join later.
Analysts Ming-Chi Kuo and Jeff Pu confirm that the iPhone 18's A20 chips will be built on this 2nm process, which promises up to a 15% speed gain and 30% reduction in power consumption compared with Apple's current 3nm A19 silicon. Other major players—Qualcomm, AMD, MediaTek and Broadcom—are also securing early production slots priced at about $30,000 per wafer.
