Google's Pixel 10 may lose its camera crown, if prevailing rumors hold true. The next-generation Pixel is expected to ditch last year's 50MP 1/1.31-inch main sensor for a smaller 48MP 1/2-inch module—the same sensor used in the budget-focused Pixel 9a. Its ultrawide is also tipped to fall from 48MP to 12MP, even below the 9a's 13MP lens, in exchange for a first-time regular-model telephoto zoom.
At an assumed $799/£799 price point, this trade-off risks leaving the Pixel 10 behind rivals like Honor's £699/$699 400 Pro, which pairs a 200MP 1/1.4-inch main sensor with 50MP telephoto and 12MP ultrawide lenses. With Google's camera reputation on the line, the upcoming August 20 launch will reveal whether software magic can compensate for shrinking hardware.
