But then you have moments like yesterday. Bellingham's newest tiny house village has opened, and the village's residents invited public officials and community members to see what they had built.
I had the opportunity to speak with several residents, who all shared how access to a tiny home village had transformed their lives. They were all homeless in some way before they arrived at the village, whether that meant living unsheltered, in a car, or in a motel. But at North Haven, they have shelter and a new family.
They're eager to replicate the model in other places in Bellingham, and officials seem open to it. You can learn more about North Haven and its impact on our community members here.
