Speaking of Bellingham-specific events: This weekend is also the second annual Gnomecoming at the Bellingham Circus Guild. The enchanted forest-themed performance doubles as a costume party, so if you've been waiting to break out your favorite fairy wings or toadstool hat, now's your moment to shine.
We're also still in the midst of (seemingly nonstop) Oktoberfest events, though Sunnyland Fest is my personal favorite. The multi-day pub crawl spotlights new festbier releases at breweries across the Sunnyland neighborhood. Like Gnomecoming, this is a costumed affair: Attendees are encouraged (albeit not required) to don their finest Oktoberfest gear.
Finally, Bellingham Veg Fest happens Sunday on the Barkley Village Green. More than 60 regional vendors are participating, including Buu Chan, Bry's Filipino Cuisine, James Street Cakes, West Coast Dumpling Company and more. In a similar vein, we put together a roundup of restaurants catering to people with dietary restrictions — whether they're vegan, gluten-free or navigating food allergies.
