Welcome to The Carty Method Community Greeting to those of you who have been coming here for a while now. I’m Michael Stimatze, the Community Manager for The Carty Method (TCM). My role within TCM is to help new members get onboarded. I greet the new members as they join, show them around the community and assist however they need assistance. I also help established members with questions and concerns they may have about TCM. It is a privilege to serve this community. I have not found any photography community that is as supportive and dedicated to helping each other than TCM. The environment is always positive. There is no drama – which as we all know is very rare with any online social platforms. I came across Steve Carty on YouTube in January 2024. The first time I saw any of his content was a live photo review show. I typically do not watch live YouTube shows but something about Carty grabbed my attention. His no-nonsense review of one his viewer’s photos was intriguing to me. I wanted to get his feedback on my own photography. I signed up as a member, joined the community (back then we were on Discord) and took a photo of some little knick knack I saw on my shelf. It was a horrible photo! I will only show this photo now to demonstrate how submitting weekly to Carty and applying the feedback can change your photography in such a profound way. And in a relatively short time. I was, and still am for the most part, a hobbyist photographer. I had some inkling that maybe I could make a little side cash with my camera before Carty. I was scrolling YouTube to find ways to improve and maybe get some insight on how to make this a side hustle. I NEVER thought of myself as a person who could be a professional photographer. Then Steve introduced the Pro Accelerator in February of 2024. The first run he called a Masterclass. I will be honest here, I thought it was a masterclass to learn how to use my camera. I had misunderstood, but I figured since I was already signed up, I might as well see it through. I now know that I could be a working professional photographer if I chose to pursue that. The Carty Method Pro Accelerator really is a step-by-step paint by numbers approach to doing just that. If one were to apply the systems he teaches they will succeed. Carty has helped me find my niche - Industrial lifestyle and environmental photography. Having that narrow focus has done almost as much to further my photography as submitting to, watching, and applying the feedback from the weekly reviews has. What you can expect from me on Mondays going forward will be focused on the Community. · New member’s stories · News and updates about the Community · Deeper dives into the features within the platform · Discussions suggested by the members Next week I will introduce you to the TCM staff. We will learn their roles and some insight into how Carty and The Carty Method have inspired and changed their photography. Watch for an introduction video that will serve as guide to the platform and help to introduce the features. Be sure to come back tomorrow – same place and time.
