It's been a busy day in the CDN newsroom. Earlier this morning, my colleagues Hailey Hoffman and Julia Tellman raced off to Sudden Valley to cover the fallout from last night's bomb cyclone. They spoke with residents who had trees fall on their homes and are now starting the process of cleaning up.
Elsewhere, Charlotte Alden reported on how a backyard bird flock,
with chickens, turkeys and ducks, in Whatcom County tested positive for bird flu, and Isaac Simonelli followed up on the embattled Northwest Youth Services asking for county financial support after workplace concerns came to light following the departure of the former CEO.
I spent this morning listening to the Washington State Funeral and Cemetery Board meeting where board members found Moles Farewell Tributes & Crematory Center not at fault after two human remains in the care of the Medical Examiner's Office were improperly stored for a weekend in May.

Summer, left, and Callon Digger stand outside their Sudden Valley home, waiting for a crane to remove the tree that fell on their house late at night on Tuesday, Nov. 19. A bomb cyclone battered the northwest, and Sudden Valley was one of the hardest hit places in Whatcom County with dozens of trees blocking roads and damaging homes.
