| There's a new man in office – and it isn't Trump |
|
| Donald Trump's defeat against Kamala Harris inevitably sparked plenty of reaction, from Americans embracing the 4B movement, with searches soaring 450 per cent just hours after the results were announced, to Cardi B saying she "hates everyone" who voted for him. But, there was one man who stood by Trump throughout the campaign – and some have called the inseparable relationship rather odd: Elon Musk, or as some have rebranded him, 'Lady Elonia'. The Tesla founder constantly showed his support for Trump throughout the US presidential campaign, even going as far as offering $1 million to voters in swing states. The winners were reportedly selected at random from a group of people who signed a pro-US Constitution petition by Musk's campaign group America PAC. Political commentator Ana Navarro called the relationship "weird," adding that Musk seems to "be everywhere at all times". "He's like, secretary of everything, and at the same time, he's like First Lady," she continued, before referencing the bizarre family photo of "entire family except Melania, but Elon Musk was there". Meanwhile, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the American host quipped: "Look out, Melania, Trump's got a new squeeze named Elonia Musk." The pair have been spotted enjoying days out on the golf course and dining, with tech journalist Kara Swisher suggesting it's only a matter of time Trump ditches Musk "because they're both really strong personalities who like to be at the centre of attention." | Welcome to the Indy100 newsletter | |

| Back in 2020, the Perseverance Rover was sent up to the Red Planet with the Mars Helicopter called Ingenuity strapped to the bottom of it. The initial plan was for Ingenuity - otherwise known as Ginny - to make no more than five test flights within 30 days but in the end, the aircraft surpassed expectations when it completed 72 flights between April 2021 and January 2024. It's more impressive when you consider the fact that the helicopter was just half a meter (1.6 feet) tall and weighed less than two kilograms (four pounds). As the first aircraft to successfully complete a powered, controlled flight on another planet, the purpose of the flights was to explore parts of Mars that couldn't be reached by the Perseverance rover. One of the notable aerial images was captured in 2022 when the helicopter took photos of debris on the dusty, cold, desert. "There's definitely a sci-fi element to it. It exudes otherworldly, doesn't it?" Ian Clark, a Perseverance parachute system engineer, said. Read more here | |
| MrBeast is known for pulling off some crazy stunts and his latest video is no different as a Lamborghini could be seen crashing into a wall of tape - but is it real? In the 14-second clip posted on social media aptly titled "How Much Tape To Stop A Lamborghini?" the 26-year-old whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson appeared to get someone to drive a Lamborghini into duct tape - with the number of rolls used increasing each time. Firstly it started with just one roll, but then quickly multiplied to 100, 1,000, and 5,000 with no signs of visible damage to the luxury car. That is until 10,000 rolls were used, as the hood of the Lamborghini flew off, then at 15,000 the car slid to the side and off the road. Finally, it seems the tipping point was at 25,001 rolls. This latest stunt has sparked a lot of reaction from viewers in the comments section which varied in terms of criticism. | |

| A humble Worcestershire chippy has gained international stardom off the back of TikTok, thanks to their 'chip shop diva'. People have since been inspired by the "iconic" worker with Halloween costumes, skits and people even travelling miles to meet her. Her newfound fame has also worked in the favour of Merchants Fish and Chips which has now been inundated with five-star reviews. Merchants Fish and Chips, located in Bewdley, Worcestershire, started sharing videos on TikTok. One clip in particular racked up over 25 million views – and no, it wasn't because of a viral trend. It was a simple customer interaction. Since then, the young employee has been hailed the "chip shop diva" whose real name is Destiny, 20. Remarks such as "You could have a mini haddock meal," "Would you like a slice of lemon?", "Have a nice day" and a slight "hm" at the end of the interaction have since turned into viral catchphrases.
