I should hope the Israeli government sees itself as getting out of its wars against Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as Syria now that Bashar al-Assad's slaughterhouse regime has been overthrown. But as settlements expand and Palestinians face severe repression, international criticism mounts, with protests continuing to grow globally. So I hope that the UN finally closes the settlements and makes a Palestinian state – along with sending Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the Hague. –Gordon Read Israel may defeat Hamas and Hezbollah – but it is losing the real war and its longer-term security. Israel is now the most reviled country in the world, especially in the Global South. Unfortunately, what's happening now in Israel exactly mirrors what the USA did in Iran, supporting the Shah against democratic attack, until the country responded by turning violently anti-American. For every terrorist you kill, you will motivate 20 new recruits.
