He told me about a hidden lake that was on top of a mountain nearby. Seeing that lake was on his bucket list. The distance was 10 miles round trip, and it was rated an intermediate to difficult hike. Right away, I began to panic because I didn't know if I had the capacity to make it. I hadn't been exercising, and I had fallen into the mindset that because I was getting older it was only natural that I would have less energy and drive. Early the next morning, we began our ascent. Right away, I knew this was going to be very hard. About halfway up, we met a discouraged couple who had given up trying to reach the lake.
