Every time I visit a new place, I tend to go to a local, independent bookstore. Most of the time, I walk out with a book. OK, every time I walk out with two books.

The last time I went to Edison, the Book Shucker was closed. But I'll have to go back after reading CDN contributor Jessica Gigot's recent story about local bookshops in Skagit County. Co-owner Michelle and Tim Gale handpick the books on the shelves at the store.
