Five years on from Britain's departure from the EU, The Independent published a damning front page laying bare the devastating impact Brexit has had on the UK. 

And the damage is ongoing, with The Independent having also revealed that less than half of the impact of Brexit is yet to materialise.

Sir Keir Starmer came to power on a promise to fix Britain's broken relationship with Europe, but has so far equivocated over where he is willing to work more closely with Brussels. 

The prime minister cannot afford to let 2025 be another year of Brexit inaction, or the "working people" he so often talks about will be left paying the price.
