- Donald Trump is serious about trying to acquire Greenland, both to expand America's sphere of influence in the Western Hemisphere and as a way to cement his legacy, according to three sources. The US embassy in Copenhagen said, however, that the country has no current plans to increase its military presence in the Arctic island.
- South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol will accept the decision of the Constitutional Court that is trying parliament's impeachment case against him, even if it decides to remove him from office, his lawyer said. Meanwhile, Yoon's party is seeing signs of a revival.
- Venezuelan opposition parties and their supporters are set to hold protests around the country in an eleventh-hour effort to put pressure on President Nicolas Maduro, one day before he is due to be sworn in for his third six-year term.
