I volunteered for more and more projects so I wouldn't have time to think about the fact that results would be posted at 6:00 P.M. Then I would know whether they found me worthy of a California license or not. At 4:00 P.M., I closed my laptop and tried hard to concentrate and meditate. When that proved futile, I leashed my dog and walked out of the house. I needed air. I walked alongside a farm field nearby, trying to breathe and contain my anxiety. I focused on the beauty of California's blue skies. I thought of all the reasons why it would be a tragedy not to pass the test. I'd prove to myself I was a failure. I'd show myself I didn't have what it takes, and it was a waste of time, energy and money to embark on this project. (Keep reading) |
