~Mary C. Crowley "I hate the way chemotherapy makes me so sick. I wish I could go the rest of the summer without these treatments." My husband Glen picked up my hand as we sat in our side-by-side recliners in front of the television screen, neither of us caring what was on it. Having made a living by operating heavy equipment for thirty years, even the palms of his hands had always been rough. I noticed how soft they were becoming. "I don't even know why I bought that boat. It won't do anybody any good tied up at dock all summer. I wish the kids would go ahead and use it, but you know they won't." "The kids will use the boat all right — with us." I squeezed his hand. "I believe you'll get an extension on your break from chemo. We'll be camping and fishing soon.
