Donald Trump returned to Washington DC and performed a wreath-laying at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday to mark Memorial Day.
It also marked his only presidential moment of the day. Trump immediately returned to his golf course in Virginia after the ceremony, where he remained the rest of the day.
His official Memorial Day message on Truth Social, meanwhile, was a predictable furious all-caps tirade against the "scum" that ran the country for "the last four years".
The US president would go on to accuse US judges of harboring a "sick" ideology in the rant, while also claiming that they "hate" America.
On Sunday, however, the president had a very different target in mind: Vladimir Putin.
A deadly offensive against Ukrainian targets over the weekend was reported to kill at least 12 people across Ukraine in what experts said was the largest aerial offensive of the war so far.
Trump reacted to the news on Sunday with a clear case of wounded pride. He lashed out at both Putin and Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky in a separate Truth Social diatribe and told a group of reporters about the Russian leader: "I don't know what the hell happened to Putin."
France's president Emmanuel Macron seemed to have the answer.
"I believe that President Trump has realised that when President Putin told him he was ready for peace, he was lying," Macron said this week.
