Other notable music events include Western Symphony Orchestra Goes to the Movies!, also happening Saturday night. Orchestra students and alumni will put their spin on a range of iconic movie themes, from "Star Wars" to "Pirates of the Caribbean."
The Bellingham Chamber Music Society's spring concert, "Exuberant," is this Sunday at the Hotel Leo. The program includes three classical performances, with Dvorak's "Piano Quintet in A Major, Op. 81" as the centerpiece.
Jazz fans also have not one but three options on Sunday: Jazz in the Taproom at Boundary Bay Brewery, and The Carswellian Experience Project at FireHouse Arts and Events Center (part of the venue's 2025 Spring Art of Jazz series). Hotel Leo also hosts Jazz Brunch from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday and Sunday.
The Carl Cozier PTA has a spring fundraiser at Boundary Bay Brewery with face painting, a photo booth and live music from SpaceBand. Dementia Support Northwest is also hosting a Miles for Memories Walkathon benefiting Amy's Place, a new dementia-friendly community center opening this June at Bellis Fair Mall.
Last but not least, folks in Whatcom County have two spring festivals to look forward to this Saturday: Meadows Montessori School Spring Festival in Ferndale and Blaine's Spring Block Party.
