Would you like to show something of yours on FlakPhoto? I’m always looking and love seeing new work. Please email me anytime. Cheers! Years ago, I published a photoblog. Remember those? The premise was simple: a photo a day with some links to see more of that artist’s work. Instagram changed everything, so I’m trying something new: the Monday Muse, a visual inspiration for your email inbox. No algorithms, no ads. Just a picture to start your week. Would you like to show something of yours here? Please email anytime! —AA I had other plans for today, but I spent the morning catching up on a backlog of emails and found a message from Pie Aerts about his new book project, COIRÓN. So, I decided to share it with you instead. I think you’ll like this. Clearly, the world is changing quickly and often more disruptively than some of us prefer. Change is the only constant: nothing lasts forever, which makes work like Pie’s so vital. He’s a documentary photographer with a poetic approach to imagemaking, and I know these images will resonate with many of you. Here’s how Pie describes the project: It’s a meditation on stillness, human resilience, and the inevitable passing of time. A portrait of men living at the edge of the world, pushing through because they must, through silence, endurance, and repetition. I could say more, but I’ll let Pie do the talking. His Kickstarter video will inspire you. You can learn more about Pie on his website and follow him on Instagram. Congratulations on reaching your fundraising goal, Pie! I look forward to seeing the book. Have a great week, everyone. Take care of yourselves and be well. Do you want to contribute photography or writing to FlakPhoto? Please feel free to email anytime. I’m always looking and love seeing new work. Cheers! |
