Good morning from the trail,
As I was walking this morning, something became very clear to me....
Most capable people don't lack clarity.
They lack motion.
You probably already know what needs to happen.
The call.
The decision.
The uncomfortable conversation.
The first version.
The next rep.
But there's something seductive about thinking a little longer.
Researching a little more.
Waiting for the right timing.
I was hiking recently and reflecting on this.
On a trail, you don't reach the summit in one dramatic leap.
You reach it step by step.
And something interesting happens along the way.
Each step becomes a small achievement.
That small win gives you energy.
That energy carries you forward.
And before you know it, you're no longer wondering if you'll make it — you're already climbing.
The trail builds you as much as you climb it.
Clarity often follows movement.
Confidence often follows action.
Momentum doesn't require a master plan.
It requires one step.
So here's a simple question for today:
What's one step you've been postponing?
Not the whole transformation.
Just the first step.
Take it.
And then take another tomorrow.
You may find that progress was never about knowing more.
It was about moving sooner.
Talk soon,
Jim
