Days after Nigel Farage won a key by-election, Reform should be celebrating. Instead, tensions behind the scenes have boiled over in public, again.
The party has suspended high-profile supporter Tim Montgomerie, after he criticised Reform’s home affairs spokesperson Zia Yusuf for not being a “team player”.
Mr Yusuf has been at the centre of controversy for days after he called former Tory defence secretary, and soldier, Ben Wallace a “traitor”.
But it is Mr Montgomerie, a defector from the Tories, who has faced action.
He has vowed to appeal.
In a video posted to X, he said: “If they want to kick me out, they're going to have to kick me out after an argument.”
Strikingly, he also said he took “some comfort from the fact that Nigel Farage did not know about my suspension” – which only raises more questions about the whole saga.
