Arnold Newman (1918-2006) spent nearly seven decades photographing the figures who shaped twentieth-century culture, creating some of the most recognizable portraits in the history of the medium.

These works come from the complete planning archive for Five Decades and includes portraits of Piet Mondrian, Georgia O’Keeffe, Alfred Stieglitz, Willem de Kooning, Man Ray, Pablo Picasso, Igor Stravinsky, Francis Bacon, and Ansel Adams, among others.

The exhibition opens in Los Angeles today, October 17, 4-6 pm. [Event details here.]
