It's a Bank Holiday in the UK so I thought I'd give you all a bit of a lie-in. Let's whizz through the features from this week: Alim Kheraj spoke with singer and actor Kym Marsh about her acting career, attention from the tabloids and why she's done with marriage. In case you missed it last weekend, Mark Beaumont had a look at Ed Sheeran's new single "Azizam" and why he reckons its success is the latest evidence of a musician who's too big to fail. This weekend, don't miss Craig McLean's brilliant interview with Billy Idol, out tomorrow; on Sunday you can read Hannah Ewens' chat with James Arthur. New music bits: Always impressed by Fontaines DC who just haven't missed once, now with some new songs as part of a deluxe edition of their superb 2024 album Romance. Orla Gartland is great on the squelchy, woozy "Now What", as is Billie Marten on "Leap Year". The glorious Jacob Alon returns with their new single, "August Moon", ahead of the release of what I can tell you is a fantastic debut album. Helen Brown is a fan of the Julien Baker and Torres album, Send a Prayer My Way (me too). New Witch Post track "Spell" is a beaut. Have a wonderful weekend all! |

| Drummer Zak Starkey has said he is "surprised and saddened" that anyone would take issue with his Royal Albert Hall performance with The Who, after being sacked from the band he has played with for almost 30 years. The British musician, who is the son of The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and his first wife, Maureen Starkey, had been the band's full-time drummer since he joined their Quadrophenia tour in 1996. However, this week the band's representatives shared a statement that a "collective decision" was made to part ways with Starkey after their Royal Albert Hall shows, during which frontman Roger Daltrey reportedly complained about his performance. "I'm very proud of my near-30 years with The Who," Starkey said in a statement shared to Rolling Stone on Wednesday evening (16 April). "Filling the shoes of my godfather, 'uncle Keith [Moon] has been the biggest honour and I remain their biggest fan. They've been like family to me." Referencing the blood clots he suffered in his "right bass drum calf" in January, Starkey said his injury had completely healed and "does not affect my drumming or running", seemingly shutting down speculation that the "serious medical emergency" could have affected his playing. | We were used to people who stood still when they performed. All the young people were amazed, and everybody was tapping their feet. Of course, the police weren't happy and they were scared there would be riots | Wham!'s onstage presenter Kan Lijun on their China tour | |

| Hello! Tell me about yourselves |
| Heyyy! my name is chloe slater, i'm from bournemouth and i make indie rock music! i love using my writing to express my thoughts and feelings about the world around me as a woman in my early twenties. i've only been a full time musician for around a year now and i still pinch myself every time i meet someone who likes my music! it's been incredible to see my lyrics connecting this year with so many people as the aim of my music has always been to make people feel seen, heard and accepted in my community. |
| What are your inspirations and influences? |
| My biggest inspirations lyrically have come from declan mckenna and sam fender- but overall my favourite bands and artists at the moment are wolf alice and arctic monkeys! most of my songwriting ideas are shower thoughts or little one liners that i've read or heard in the pub and tapped into my notes app |
| What do you have lined up for 2025? |
