Circus Elleboog is a renowned youth circus founded in Amsterdam in 1949 and widely recognized as the first youth circus in the world. For decades, Elleboog has served as a global model for “social circus,” using circus arts as a tool for youth development, creativity, and inclusion. The group has celebrated major milestones with performances at prestigious venues such as Amsterdam’s Carré Theatre. Children and young people aged 4 to 22 train in a wide range of circus disciplines, including acrobatics, juggling, unicycling, tightrope walking, and clowning. Beyond performance skills, members actively contribute to all aspects of production—designing costumes, painting scenery, and building sets—fostering a strong sense of community, responsibility, and collaboration.
